This remarkable 1830s German Flute Clock is a very rare opportunity. Currently in the final stages of tuning and restoration, this 30 hour clock with 63 pipe, 4 rank, 33 note wooden flute cylinder movement is just spectacular. Usually only found patient professional restoration for more than a year. The dial is a sight to behold. A work of art in itself. It is hand painted on metal. Every time I study this dial I see something new. Of course, the original 180 year old brush strokes are plainly visible. This clock was originally sold to the August Spellier Company of Philadelphia in the early 1800's. The case is mottled aspen. Measures 29"wide, 21" deep, 95" tall. |
