Griesbaum Singing Bird Automaton in Silver
This original Griesbaum 1900s #1 style singing bird box automaton is solid silver with original case and movement. Has key compartment in back of case. Damaged original bird was replaced with another original German bird. It is in excellent operational condition.

Each of our bird boxes have been professionally restored to working condition as needed.  We
clean lightly each piece under the assumption that the eventual owner can always clean further, but
it takes decades to add back the patina once removed.

This all original Griesbaum singing bird box automaton is perhaps the most beautiful and collectible case style that they did. Modeled after the original Swiss Bruguier design. Handpainted florals on corners and scene on lid. Guilloches design around the base. Enamel is damaged in rear left corner.

German Tortoise Shell with Gold Trim Singing Bird Box Automaton
Very unusual German tortoise shell bird box. Most of the tortoise shell at the turn of the 1900s were French and a few still Swiss. This collector's special is a transitional piece and among the earliest of the German boxes.
